Nicki Carano has been teaching Jazz Dance, Tap, Musical Theater and Drums for over fifteen years.
She has taught at The Academy Of Performing Arts, Mesa College, Preuss UCSD, Coronado School of the Arts,and many others. She has also accompanied dance classes with her percussion at Grossmont College, Mesa College, Malashock Dance Workshop and for the Liam Harney Irish Dance Co.
Her accomplished performing career has includedworld touring in both music and dance.
She has been most blessed and honored to perform for the military on tours to Iraq, Africa, Kosovo and the Persian Gulf.
She has had the privilege of performing with and sharing the stage with musical groups such as The Romantics, Dramarama, Kim Carnes, Animal Logic, Lena Lovich
and Doc Severson.
In Musical Theatre, she has worked as an the World Premiere’s of Randy Newman’s “FAUST” sharing the stage with Ken Page and Steve Garrison, as well as San Diego Repertory Theatre’s “DRACUL” and the international tour of “TIR NO NOG” with CelticFusion in which she not only played Drums with the band (in the first act) but was also principal actress “Grania” in the second act, working along side two time world Champion Irish Step Dancer Liam Harney.
She has been featured as a vocalist, dancer and drummer in several national and international tours and has been seen on CBS, ESPN, KPBS television specials and appeared in the 20th Century Fox film “TITANIC” directed by James Cameron.
In music, she has played all types of music (funk, rock, disco, dance, bluegrass, Irish, opera and yes polka) in various venues. She just moved back to San Diego from Las Vegas where she performed at New York, New York, Paris, Carnival Court, and The Silver Nugget She is currently playing with Nectarine, Haute Flash, 3DVA, Radio Rage and a new project with Jojo, Josh and Ben. Don’t know the name of that one yet.
Currently, Nicki is looking in the process of creating a non-profit organization for "The NOISY GANG", which will help her to share her skills and teach them to students of all levels and income levels.
