Kirsten Bloom


Kirsten Bloom of Sacramento Ballet has performed leading roles in numerous ballets including Romeo & Juliet (Juliet), Hamlet (Ophelia), Don Quixote (Kitri), Swan Lake (Odette/Odile), The Nutcracker (The Sugar Plum Fairy), Giselle (Giselle), and The Sleeping Beauty (Aurora). In Balanchine repertory, she has performed principal roles in Serenade, Rubies, Western Symphony, Apollo, Theme and Variations, Who Cares?, The Four Temperaments, Agon, Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, Scotch Symphony, Stars & Stripes , and The Prodigal Son. Ms. Bloom has also danced the lead in Ron Cunningham’s Carmina Burana and Bolero and created the role of Blanche in his A Streetcar Named Desire, and Lucy in his Dracula. She was featured in an episode of Law and Order and was cast as “The Ballerina” in a work by Patricia Birch (Grease). Kirsten enjoys reading, wine tasting, and spending time with her dog Lucca.
