Eric Geiger
ERIC GEIGER, Associate Artistic Director of McCaleb Dance, studied dance as a scholarship student at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York City, received his B.F.A. from the San Diego Design Institute and is currently pursuing his graduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at San Diego State University. Eric most recently directed his first full concert, An Evening of Dance, presented by San Diego State University’s School of Music and Dance, showcasing new work by Leah Cox and Heather Raikes and choreographing ICON. Eric was a company member of the Bill T Jones/ Arnie Zane Dance Company in New York City, Lyon Opera Ballet in France, Djazzex Modern Dance in the Netherlands, Isaacs, McCaleb and Dancers in San Diego, and V-TOL Dance in London. He has also performed as a guest artist with ODC in San Francisco, San Diego Ballet, San Diego Dance Theatre, Lower Left and with Leah Cox. In San Francisco, he taught movement workshops for The Medea Project, Theatre for Incarcerated Women, directed by Rhodessa Jones. He has also designed costumes and sets for Under the Tongue-By the Throat, a collaborative project, directed by Tonnie Sommartino. In 2000, he was the recipient of a Tommy Award for male performer. Eric has been with McCaleb Dance since 1998, and has choreographed Intro, Remember the Little Things, Bliss and Post and Lintel for the company.
