Sylvia
Morales

Sylvia has danced all her life. Her training and professional experience
began with ballet and has since included other dance styles - modern
dance, jazz, classical Spanish and flamenco. She has performed as
a soloist and ensemble dancer throughout the United States in theaters
including Lincoln Center in New York City, Kennedy
Center in Washington D.C., and The Dorothy Chandler
Pavilion and J. Paul Ghetty Museum, Theater
in Los Angeles. As a soloist and choreographer Sylvia performed for
the prestigious Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Beckett,
MA, The Colorado Dance Festival and with the San
Diego Symphony at Copley Theater. She has performed
as a featured dancer with the Los Angeles Opera Company
and The American Opera Center. Her experience also includes
choreographing and performing for commercial television and film.
In addition to Sylvia's work as a choreographer and dancer, Sylvia
has many years experience as a dance educator in the private and public
arenas. She has studied ballet with renown teachers Alfredo Corvino,
Hector Zaraspe and Erling Sunde and classical Spanish dance and flamenco
with master teachers in the United States and Spain. Ms. Morales completed
a Master of Fine Arts in performance and choreography at U.C.L.A.
and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance at The Julliard School
in New York City where she worked intensively with teachers and choreographers
such as Anna Sokolow, Hanya Holme, Daniel Lewis, Ethel Winters and
studied ballet and modern dance technique, performing works by Jose
Limon and Martha Graham.
